Applied Cryogenics and Superconductivity Summer Course

Applied Cryogenics and Superconductivity Summer Course

The Applied Cryogenics and Superconductivity Summer Course is organised within the CuriousU summer school at the University of Twente. CuriousU is a one-of-a-kind combination of a European summer school programme with international taste and a festival theme.

In this summer course, you will learn the properties of materials at low temperatures and the engineering properties of superconducting conductors. We will discuss the basic operation of cryocoolers and superconducting systems. The lectures will be intertwined with practical sessions on low-temperature experimental techniques, among others, two-phase boiling curve measurement and critical current measurement of the superconducting materials.
